My main theme was "music inspired by noir and detective music", but I also incorporated other rules in order to write outside my comfort zone, in a more contemporary style. For example, Clouded Vision was through composed in free time and free harmony, while Otherside takes an ambient approach, utilizing unconventional modes over long drones.
